SONY MUSIC PUBLISHING
Sony Music Publishing's return to Music Row in Nashville called for more than just an office — it called for a space that honors those transcendent moments when a song becomes part of life's soundtrack.
The new space is activated with immersive storytelling where songwriters' passion, creativity, and impact comes alive in unexpected ways. The result? A workplace that doesn't just house music-making — it celebrates the profound human connections that occur when artists craft the songs that move our hearts, mark our memories, and define our moments.

Writer’s Block.
Authentic emotion comes forward as you step behind-the-scenes into the creative process that every writer and composer face in their journey toward expression. Raw edge wooden blocks feature scribbles, crossed out words, doodles, and creased pages to convey the feeling of frustration that can be part of this path. Moments of clarity are sprinkled throughout as well — celebrating breakthroughs and triumphs in writing and composing. The installation celebrates the musical storytellers and their raw desire to move people emotionally – and commitment to keep creating until they do.
Recorded History.
Sony’s seventy-year dream of enriching people’s lives through the power of music comes into focus through colorful, brand-toned records that fill the wall with a rippling expansive composition. Each record is mounted to the wall with a peg from the center of a turntable, bringing authentic materiality to the installation. The face of the records feature songs published by Sony over the years and include the song name, its writer, and the year it was released.
